Project Specification Writing

One of the difficulties of getting prices for work to properties is having a specification that you can tender.  It is no use asking a builder to price a job, if he then tells how he would do it.  Each builder has a different idea, usually they are all wrong anyway - so you need a clear and concise specification and schedule of work to give to everyone involved with your project.  You will then be able to compare apples with apples as prices come in for the work.

Project specifications are written in line with BS 7913: 2013 - Guide to the Conservation of Historic Buildings.

Accurate specifications are also important when it comes to possible problems with a project.  If something DOES go wrong, specifications allow much better targetting of the problem, and responsibility for sorting it out.
